Major Storm Expected All Tuesday, March 14

A major Nor’easter is forecast to impact the region starting Monday night and lasting through Wednesday morning. Heavy wet snow is expected, with accumulations of 18–24 inches possible in our area. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph are also expected.

Snow fall rates of 1–2 inches per hour are possible at times, combined with high winds, which will reduce visibility and make travel treacherous. Residents are advised to stay off the roads if at all possible. Widespread power outages are also being anticipated, due to heavy snow and winds. Please take necessary precautions.

Due to an unfortunate accident a few weeks ago, our smaller plow truck is out of commission. We are still waiting for the insurance evaluation. In the meantime, Becket is able to loan us a small truck to help out with this storm. It does not have a sander, but will allow us to plow the gravel dirt roads. Nevertheless, it will be more challenging than usual for the crew to keep up with this high-impact and long-duration snow event. We ask residents to be patient and adjust travel plans accordingly.
