PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE: Tick Season Awareness
Posted on: June 9, 2026 - 9:55am
It is tick season in Washington. Residents are encouraged to take precautions when spending time outdoors. Recommended steps include wearing long sleeves and pants, tucking pant legs into socks, wearing a hat, and applying insect repellent such as DEET, neem, or pyrethrum to clothing before going outside.
If you develop aches, fever, or fatigue after spending time outdoors, consult your physician and request a blood test even if you do not recall a tick bite.
For questions, contact Public Health Nurse Leslie Drager at [email protected].
