Safety Alert: Extreme Winter Cold Snap On Our Doorstep

Residents are advised to take precautions during the next few days as the National Weather Service is forecasting extreme cold weather and dangerous wind chills from late Thursday night through Saturday morning. Wind chills as low as 25–40 degrees below zero are possible.

With high winds also comes the threat of power outages from trees limbs falling on power lines.

If anyone becomes endangered due to the extreme cold and the inability to provide sufficient heat, please contact Chief Miller at 413-427-2995 for assistance. In an emergency, we can open the Town Hall to operate as a warming center for those in need.

If you are aware of any vulnerable neighbors who may be at risk, please also alert Chief Miller or contact Select Board chair Kent Lew (413-446-7897) so that we can schedule a wellness check and provide assistance if necessary.

Please stay safe and stay warm.
