Animal Control
The Animal Control Officer is responsible for enforcing laws regarding to the health, welfare, and keeping of dogs and livestock, including licensing and vaccination requirements.
The ACO responds to reports of dog bites as well as complaints about dangerous, nuisance, or stray animals. The ACO may also be called upon to respond to dangerous or diseased wildlife. In Washington, our ACO is also our Municipal Animal Inspector and conducts an annual census of pets and livestock in Town.
Our Police Chief serves as the Animal Control Officer and holds regular office hours on most Monday nights at Town Hall.
