Mask Requirement at Town Hall Lifted

On Monday night, the Select Board voted to relax the mask policy at Town Hall, effective immediately. Following the latest guidance from the CDC and Mass DPH, masks will no longer be absolutely required when visiting Town Hall.

Although wearing a mask is now voluntary, it is still strongly recommended for individuals who are at high risk, immuno-compromised, or unvaccinated. No one should be embarrassed to don a mask if they feel the extra protection is important for their health and for those they live with.

We will continue to observe social distancing to the extent practicable. When conducting business with Town officials, please do not crowd the offices. Wait in the hallway if necessary and remain considerate of those around you.

The CDC has provided a new online tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest county data. The COVID-19 Community Level for Berkshire County is currently considered to be Low.

The Select Board and Board of Health will continue to monitor the Community Level and may reinstate the mask requirement if local transmission rates surge again in the future.
