What are the registration deadlines for the 2022 elections?

If you are not currently registered to vote in Washington or you need to change your current registration (e.g. party affiliation), there are deadlines that you must register by:

  • September 6th State Primary:  registration deadline is Saturday, August 27th
  • November 8th State Election:  registration deadline is Saturday, October 29th

On these registration deadlines, there will be a registration session held from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Washington Town Hall.

How Do I Register to Vote?

  • In-Person: At the Town Clerk’s office on Monday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
  • By Mail: Request a mail-in form from the Town Clerk or download it here.
  • Automatic Voter Registration: When applying for or renewing your driver’s license or state ID at the Registry of Motor Vehicles or applying for health insurance through MassHealth or the Commonwealth Health Connector, you will be automatically registered to vote, unless you opt out of registering.
  • Online: Using the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Online Voter Registration (OVR) System. In order to register to vote online, you must have a signature on file with the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
  • Special Voter Registration Sessions: Held before elections and town meetings. Notice of these registration sessions will be published on the website and in the Tracks newsletter.
