Municipal Light Board

The Municipal Light Board is responsible for providing oversight and establishing direction for the Washington Municipal Light Plant — i.e., the Town’s fiber broadband utility. They approve all policy statements, review major programs and initiatives, and oversee budget and finances.

The Municipal Light Board is responsible for hiring (appointing) the MLP Manager and evaluating performance.

The Board meets quarterly to review reports from the MLP Manager, and more frequently as circumstances require.

The Municipal Light Board is comprised of three elected officials, each serving a three-year term with one being reelected each year.
