New Chair Yoga Class Announced

The Council on Aging has added a new Chair Yoga for Seniors class to the weekly offerings. Popular teacher Rima Sala will be leading this second yoga class on Mondays at 11:00 am at Town Hall beginning on March 21.

“This new class, Chair Yoga, is dedicated to those who want a gentler, safer way to practice,” says Rima. “Using a chair as a prop provides support and stability. The goal of this practice is to access strength, flexibility and stamina, no matter where we may be starting from. We will do modified yoga poses and stretches, some seated, some standing next to the chair. We will also focus on breath and awareness. Our bodies are capable of opening and transforming at any age as long as we have the desire.”

Yoga mats are recommended, as well as a small blanket or pillow.  Participants will be required to sign a health/liability waiver before taking this class.
