Public Notice of Invitation To Bid: Washington Mountain Road Crack Sealing

The Town of Washington, acting through its Highway Department, invites sealed bids from contractors for the Washington Mountain Road Crack Sealing and Related Work project. The work to be performed includes crack sealing on Washington Mountain Road from the Dalton Town Line to the Becket Town Line.

A Bid Proposal Package for this project, which contains detailed specifications, bid form, and other pertinent information is available electronically starting Wednesday, May 10, 2023 @ 2:00pm by email request with company name, address and phone # included to: mmessana@foresightland.com.

Sealed bids are due at the Washington Highway Garage, 443 S. Washington State Road, Washington, MA 01223 by 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Only prospective bidders who are prequalified for this project by MassDOT will be entitled to bid on this project. The estimated project value is $170,000.00.

The work under this contract shall be subject to the provisions of Chapter 30, Section 39M of the Massachusetts General Laws. Wages are subject to Massachusetts’s minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. Chapter 149. All applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and rules shall be observed.

The Town of Washington reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any informality in the bids received, and to accept the bid deemed to be most favorable to the best interest of the Town. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and not withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded, after the date of opening the bids.

Addendum #1 – May 12, 2023

The Original Bid Documents, including the Contract Documents, Specifications and Plans, are hereby amended as noted in this Addendum No. 1, dated May 12, 2023. Contractor shall acknowledge receipt of this addendum by inserting its number and date in the space provided in the Bid Documents.

1. The MassDOT Prequalification Office has classified this project in the Class of Work of Crack Sealing and the Project Value of $170,000.00. Contractors who are not prequalified in the project’s Class of Work and/or Project Value must contact the MassDOT Prequalification Office if they wish to submit a bid: prequal.r109@dot.state.ma.us
2. The date and time of the bid opening remains on Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Washington Highway Garage, 443 S. Washington State Road, Washington, MA 01223.
3. Please acknowledge receipt of this Addendum #1 on the Bid Proposal Form.
