Annual Pumpkin Walk This Friday Evening, 10/27

This year’s John FX Keator Memorial Pumpkin Walk will take place Friday, October 27, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at the Town Park.

Thanks to Ed Bond and a team of dedicated volunteers for once again keeping the flame alive. Craig Willis will be providing candy to give away to the trick-or-treaters, as always, and offering his renowned hayrides as well. Hot cider will be available, courtesy of John and Kathy Love, along with hot dogs, thanks to Ernie Lampron. Fire Chief Paul Mikaniewicz and members of the Becket Volunteer Fire Dept. will be on hand to oversee the bonfire, with material supplied by Hinsdale Timbers and prepped by Tom Johnson and our highway crew. Our local Girl Scouts are once again carving pumpkins to display, under the guidance of troop leader Allison Mikaniewicz.

The team could still use more folks to help direct traffic and coordinate parking. If you want to join in, contact Ed Bond at 413-446-3138.

This annual event was started by the late John Keator, along with his wife Georgette, and has continued in his memory since his passing in 2011 through the community efforts of friends and neighbors.
