Culvert Replacements Will Close Some Roads This Week and Next, 10/18–24

The Highway crew will be replacing several drainage culverts in town, beginning this Wednesday, 10/18, and continuing through Tuesday next week, 10/24. Each day, the road will be completely blocked off in the location of the replacement, beginning at 7:00 a.m. and reopening around 3:00 p.m.

Following is the work schedule of locations:

1. Wednesday, 10/18: Lower Valley Rd, about 140 yds south of the fork with Johnson Hill Rd (where the road is already closed to through traffic due to the bridge closure).

2. Thursday, 10/19: Johnson Hill Rd, about 400 yds southeast of the fork with Lower Valley Rd. All through traffic on Johnson Hill Rd/Lower Valley Rd will need to reroute via Middlefield Rd/High St and Rte 8 through North Becket. (The road will not close until after school buses pass in the morning and should reopen before their return in the afternoon.)

3. Friday, 10/20: Stonehouse Rd, about 200 yds north of Frost Rd.

4. Monday, 10/23: Stonehouse Rd, near the Simmons Rd mailboxes.

5. Tuesday, 10/24: Stonehouse Rd, about 140 yds west of Rte 8.
