Traveler Robbed on Washington Mountain Road

On Tuesday morning, a gentleman stopped to assist what appeared to be a disabled silver Nissan Sentra that was pulled over with the hood up on Washington Mountain Rd. However, instead, the two young men with the car forced the man to hand over his wallet with several hundred dollars cash and then fled, driving south. The police are on the lookout for the vehicle, which had a license plate in the back window, not mounted properly.

Chief Miller advises residents when encountering a stranded vehicle to call the police to assist the driver rather than stop themselves, especially if it is someone who is not familiar to you.

Situations like this are hopefully uncommon, but unfortunately not unheard of. Residents should take care and exercise careful judgment.
