Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee To Share History & Projects, Thursday, 3/14

In 2023 the Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee celebrated 30 years of preserving, highlighting, and enhancing the designated sections of the Westfield River. Several of the brooks and streams in Washington are part of this designation, feeding the West Branch of the Westfield River: Depot Brook and Savery Brook among them.

In an effort to make sure that each town has the information they need to participate fully, contribute to and benefit from the committees’ efforts & funding as well as enhance their appreciation for the river we all love and share, they will be presenting a slide show on March 14 at 6:30pm at Washington Town Hall. They will share stories of the past, present and future celebrating our shared commitment to the Westfield River.

Water quality specialist Cindy Delpapa and outreach coordinator Meredyth Babcock have prepared a slide show presentation to engage and inform you. At the end of the show they will answer any questions, discuss initiatives underway, and highlight the committee’s work along the river.

Representatives from each of the ten towns and organizations continue to work to protect resources we share with all living things. Learning to enjoy our rivers’ gifts without degrading its banks and water quality is ongoing.

Please join us for this celebration and to find out more about this special Wild & Scenic river system.
